230 Fifth Avenue New York MarketCenterTM
The 230 Fifth Avenue New York MarketCenterTM is managed by Newmark Knight Frank, one of the largest independent full service real estate firms in the United States.
Newmark has managed the 230 Fifth Avenue building as of July 15, 1958. Before being acquired by Newmark, the 230 Fifth Avenue building was known as the "Lighting Building" and it is now home to over 200 showrooms with product categories ranging from home textiles to gifts, kitchen, tabletop, furniture, toys, seasonal and general merchandise.
This 20 story building is located in the landmarked Madison Square Park District on Fifth Avenue, between 26th and 27th Street, and is just steps away from the historic Flatiron District.
Jane Gural-Senders
Executive Director
As of mid-March 2004, Jane Gural-Senders has come aboard at 230 Fifth Avenue as the Executive Director of the building. She has brought with her many years of experience in real estate that will, in turn, place the 230 Fifth Avenue New York MarketCenterTM into an even stronger position in the home industry.
Under Mrs. Sender's guidance, a major multimillion dollar renovation campaign has been commenced in the building. This renovation hopes to bring a turnaround for the aesthetic appeal of the building. It includes the refurbishment of the elevator cabs, the modernization of the corridors, and the installation of new tiles, sinks and accessories in the bathrooms.
Jane Gural-Senders is looking forward to another great year for the 230 Fifth Avenue New York MarketCenterTM maintaining a strong presence in the gift and home textile market. She will take part in revitalizing the building and introducing more buying and selling activities for the showrooms as well as for the buyers that come visit the building.

Harvey Richer
Director of Leasing
Harvey has been a Commercial Real Estate Broker since 1967. Presently he is responsible for overseeing the leasing of the 230 Fifth Avenue New York MarketCenterTM.
Mr. Richer has had quite a few accomplishments during his career in real estate. He created the New York Merchandise Mart at 41 Madison Avenue in 1970 and leased 500,000 square feet at that address, creating a new showroom center for the home furnishing and tabletop industries. Other accomplishments include being appointed in 1977 as the exclusive agent to re-lease the New York Furniture Exchange building at 200 Lexington Avenue, a 485,000 square foot building. Today, it is fully occupied by top quality exhibitors from the decorator and designer trades that had been formerly concentrated exclusively in the Bloomingdale's area.
In the early 1990's, Mr. Richer converted the former "Lighting Building", which is known today as the 230 Fifth Avenue New York MarketCenterTM, into a showroom building for the home industry. Today, 230 Fifth Avenue is successfully leased and is positioned in the market as a building housing home textiles, gifts, kitchen, tabletop, furniture, toy and the general merchandise industries.
Today, Harvey Richer is regarded as one of the premier showroom leasing agents in the industry.
